Wednesday, August 26, 2009 • Posted August 25, 2009

Acclaimed Texas/New York artist Connie Jordan offers her “Business in Art” Seminar this Saturday, August 29 from 11:00am to 2:00pm at the Miller Creek RV Resort reception hall (south of Johnson City at Hwy 281 and Hwy 290 intersection).

"RePaint Your Life: Create a Life in Art", the book Connie wrote, is the basis for the information for this presentation. Connie’s seminar, offers a new and exciting approach to marketing and selling your art. Connie Jordan shares her promotional secrets and life experiences to guide your journey towards success as an artist. Lessons from Connie’s own life provide guidance and inspiration for new and aspiring artists.

Connie Jordan’s Philosophy: As an abstract artist, I admit that my life is wonderful. I have supported myself with my art since I was 18 years old. I never realized that my life was unusual until people began to ask me, “How do you make a living as an artist?” My response is always, “I don’t make a living from my art-I make a life!”

I have been privileged to show my work around the world and it has been purchased by various celebrities as well as by everyday people. I don’t feel that I have lived some kind of charmed life; I just took a different path than most artists seem to take. This is why I am doing seminars and have partnered with author Kathryn E. Eriksen to write the book "RePaint Your Life, Create a Life in Art", based on my philosophies. It is my way of showing other artists that you can make a living in art. I am also sharing my knowledge of art with children as well as adults. My goal is to help other artists learn how to market themselves and to teach others the importance of art and the artists that create it.

If you have struggled in knowing how to sell your art, this seminar is perfect for you!

RePaint Your Life Seminar is sponsored by Uptown Blanco Arts Center. Call 830-833-2514 for tickets ($20) and further information or visit the website at www.uptownblanco.com.
