Mercer Receives Grant

Sheila Mercer, a Kindergarten teacher at Blanco Elementary, was the recipient of the A+ Education Foundation, Education Grant Program. This year marks the 60th anniversary for the A+ Federal Credit Union and was a monumental year for grants awarded. There were $66,000 in grants awarded to 66 recipients. These funds cover the cost of programs and training to improve the classroom experience for students in Central Texas.

This year’s 66 winning submissions included projects such as a robotics lab, a paper recycling program, a technology bilingual program, and a program to teach their peers through podcast lessons.

The grant awarded to Sheila Mercer will be used to fund a leveled literacy library for Kindergarten students at Blanco Elementary. Kindergarten students at Blanco Elementary will benefit from the work and generosity of Sheila Mercer, and the A+ Education Foundation.
