On August 28, 2009, Manuela Chavez Barrera, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away at her home in Blanco, Texas. She was born on May 26, 1910 in Mexico.

She is survived by her two sons and three daughters: Miguel and Candi Ruiz of Blanco, Texas, Amerigo and Deiga Ruiz of San Antonio, Texas, Consuelo Flores Ruiz of Mexico, Carmela and Juan Gonzonles of Mexico, Olga Quezada Ruiz of Mexico; 70 grandchildren, 168 great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Roberto Chavez Ruiz of Blanco, Victoria Hernandez Ruiz of Mexico and her husband, Jesus Barrera of Mexico.

Memorial services were held at 4:00pm, Sunday, August 30, 2009 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in Blanco, Texas.
