10th Annual Wild Game Dinner Scheduled for October 3rd
Wednesday, September 2, 2009 • Posted September 1, 2009

Don’t miss the 10th Anniversary Wild Game Dinner fundraiser scheduled for October 3rd in Johnson City at the Blanco County Show Barn beginning at 5:00pm. Game Dinner tickets are available for $15.00 per person.

Included in the price will be the best wild game you have ever eaten, door prize chance and dance until midnight to The Mike Clifford Band. Can’t beat that!

A limited number of reserved tables are available for $250, which includes 8 dinner tickets. Call Peggy, 830-833-5335, to check availability.

Raffle tickets are being sold for $5.00 (you do not have to be present to win). Generous local businesses and citizens help the Sale Committee by sponsoring the 50 raffle items, including a “must see” variety of 18 rifles and shotguns, and lots of hunting, fishing and camping gear.

This support makes it possible for the committee to raffle over $13,000 in items throughout the evening to numerous lucky individuals.

Those attending the dinner will be able to participate in the “Pick of the Raffle,” and also buy chances to win these one of a kind guns - a Remington SPR 453 12ga with patriotic airbrush design, and Henry Lever Action with Texas history airbrush design. These two guns will be in 100 square raffles, and chances will only be sold during the dinner.

Wayne Salem, President of Salem’s Jewelry in Marble Falls, has donated a beautiful jewelry set for the “Bauble in a Bubble”! Also, special koozies donated by Pat and Becky Baker will be given to everyone participating in this fun event.

The Silent Auction is always popular with the whole family, and Sale Committee members are working hard to make this year even better.

The evening would not be complete without the Live Auction. This year’s guns are a Faust Volo 12ga O/U, T/C Icon 7mm Mag, Remington SPR 453 12ga with UT airbrush design, Remington SPR 453 12ga with A&M airbrush design, Henry Lever Action Oct bbl 22 with 10th Anniversary design, and Remington VTR .223 Rem. You can also bid on a variety of hunts, including a ten day South Africa Safari for 2 hunters donated by Antelope For Africa Safaris and a Red Stag hunt donated by Benson Farm & Ranch.

Chris Nabers has donated a weekend of floating on the Frio for 10 guests to be live auctioned, and the Sale Committee is working on a New Year’s Eve package for 4 that includes San Antonio Spurs verses Miami Heat ledge box seats!

Dinner and Raffle tickets may be purchased at K&C Supply, Blanco Floral, 4th Street Market, Blanco General or NAPA Auto Parts in Blanco. In Johnson City, go by Harvest House Farms, Ronnie’s BBQ or Odiorne Feed. In Hye, see Mike Buck at Hye Pipe & Feed. 4-H members and Johnson City FFA students are also selling tickets.

This “10th Annual Wild Game Dinner” promises to be a lot of fun and for a wonderful cause – supporting Blanco County youth at the stock show. Following the annual stock show in January, the Sale Committee has in the past added on to the auction prices, raising all livestock projects up to the average of their category. In just 9 years they have been able to put over $250,000 into the hands of Blanco County Youth.

The Sale Committee hopes that you will support their endeavor October 3rd. To get further information, or make a donation, please call 830-833-5335 or email blancowildgamedinner@yahoo.com.

Online information can be found at lbjcountry.com or on Facebook (Blanco County Wild Game Dinner). We hope that you will support our fundraiser!
