On Wednesday, August 26, the monthly Birthday Party was held at Live Oak Medical Center. Doris Collins and members of the Church of Christ came to host the party.

Cakes were brought to serve to the residents and they also enjoyed ice cream and punch. Darlene Kiernan played the piano as Dorthy Dillon sang many favorite songs for residents to enjoy.

We appreciate Rebecca Howerton and Blanco National Bank for providing gifts to our honorees: Lana Waters, Daniel Mitchell, Julia Dechert, Margaret Atkinson and Edna Costigan.

On Thursday afternoon, August 27, residents came for our Teddy Bear Picnic.

Activities Director Pauline Walker brought her bear collection and decorated tables in the dining room. Some residents brought bears of their own from their rooms.

Music was played. Winnie the Pooh tapes were also played as residents got to hold the bears.

A drawing was held and six bears were given out to six lucky winners. Refreshment of drinks and cups of dried fruits and nuts were enjoyed
