Goin’ Postal to Host Book Signing
Local Author, Jim Pepper, Releases First Book to Public
Wednesday, September 2, 2009 • Posted September 1, 2009

On Saturday, September 12, 8AM - 1PM, there will be a formal book signing hosted at Blanco’s Goin’ Postal on Pecan Street on the square. The public is invited.

You are encouraged to come out and support Blanco’s latest rookie author, Jim Pepper.

His book will be available for purchase at Goin’ Postal beginning this week. The book is twenty-two short stories entitled, “Not Your Ordinary Hunting Stories”.

Jim insists the book is correctly titled. “I’ve hunted for nearly sixty years. From many stories...I have gleaned few...the best few.”

Jim says the book is really more about life...commitment to friends and family, parenting, bonding, lasting relationships, surviving adventure in the great out doors, and even tragedy or near tragedy. But!

When reading Jim’s book, you cannot help but smile. Many of the things Jim describes in ‘living color’ have happened to all of us; but his book somehow smiles at adversity, to enjoy the moment...later.

The book is neat , clean, well written; two hundred pages broken into six to eight page quick short stories that are a whiz to read. And there are approximately eighty timeless pictures; snapshots that could be of anyone, anywhere.

Come meet the author. Pick up a few Christmas gifts for everyone in your family. BISD School Nurse Peggy Pepper, RN says, “Wives and girlfriends and mothers will enjoy Jim’s book even more than their men. Women will gain insight into why our men folk get up and go out and do the silly things they do; all in the name of hunting.”
