Hill Country Praise Returns to BUMC
Wednesday, September 16, 2009 • Posted September 15, 2009

In its fifth year, Hill Country Praise is scheduled for Saturday, September 26, in the courtyard at Blanco United Methodist Church. This event began its tradition to provide greater fellowship within its own community of faith and the community at-large. Hamburgers will be served at 5:30pm with gathering music provided by The Driftwood Gospel Band. Gene and LaVada Triesch of Blanco will then present their testimony and perform gospel music.

The Driftwood Gospel Band hails from Driftwood, Texas, approximately 30 miles east of Blanco. The band got its start at the annual Camp Ben McCulloch Driftwood Reunion Sunday evening worship service six years ago. The music was so well received that many people suggested the band start playing during Sunday services at its home church, Driftwood United Methodist Church. The band’s Fifth Sunday Gospel Hour services often fill the church to standing room only. The Driftwood Gospel Band will perform six songs at the Hill Country Praise. Band members are Robin Melanson, Kent Liming, Evan Doss, Blake Younger, Margaret Cooper, Julie Younger, Dan Lucas, Marie Eckols, Pat Jones, and Linda Brown.

Please mark your calendar so you don’t miss this very special evening in Blanco. Invite your family, friends, and neighbors. This event is free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted at the door.
