Wednesday, September 23, 2009 • Posted September 22, 2009

Antelope for Africa Safaris has donated a ten-day South African Hunting Safari for two hunters to the Wild Game Dinner fundraiser. The hunt will be included in the Game Dinner’s Live Auction on Saturday, October 3, at the Blanco County Show Barn in Johnson City. Past high bidders include Leonard and Sean Pruett, Jack Coker, and Wayne and Deborah Dworaczyk. Leonard took a Blue Wildebeest, Zebra, Red Hartebeest, Impala, and a Warthog, while Sean took a Zebra, Impala, Blesbok, and Baboon on their very memorable father-and-son hunting safari in 2007. Jack Coker purchased the 2006 hunt and came home with three Cape buffalo, a Blue Wildebeest, and a Zebra. Wayne, better known as “Dirt,” and Deborah Dworaczyk purchased a seven-day hunt donated to the 2005 Wild Game Dinner. A video presentation of their trip will be on display during the dinner. Don’t miss your chance to bid on this chance of a lifetime hunt.

Base camp is located on the conservancy area at Zwartkop District in the Limpopo Province. Outfitter, Melville du Plessis, has 26 years’ experience personally organizing and conducting customized safaris in all nine provinces of South Africa.

The hunt is valued at $8,500 and includes transportation from Polokwane Internat (airport in Limpopo Province), all accommodations, meals, daily laundry service, the services of a licensed professional hunter, use of hunting vehicle, your trackers, skinners and camp staff, hunting licenses, and permits. Hunters are responsible for airfare and trophy fees. For more information, visit bwanamel.com.

Another great hunt included in the live auction is a two-day Red Stag Deer hunt that includes lodging at Benson Farm & Ranch.

Los Vecinos Ranch has donated a two-night getaway for ten guests to enjoy floating and fishing at the Frio River. Football fans will want to bid on the four tickets to the New Orleans Saints vs. Dallas Cowboys game in the Louisiana Superdome on Saturday December 19. This also includes a New Orleans Saints autographed football!

You also will not want to miss the opportunity to bid on the fantastic New Year’s Eve package that includes four Ledge Box Seats to the Spurs vs. Miami Heat game at the AT&T Center on December 31. Ainsworth Trucking donated the tickets, which includes VIP parking and an all you can eat buffet dinner. The Marriott has donated two rooms for the evening at the Riverwalk or Rivercenter to complete the package.

There will be six guns in the live auction, including a Fausti Volo 12 gauge 28" barrel over and under, T/C Icon 7mm Mag, two Remington SPR 453 12 gauges (one with University of Texas airbrush design and one with Texas A&M design), Henry Lever Action octagonal barrel 22 with Game Dinner 10th Anniversary airbrush design, and a Remington VTR .223 Rem.
