Gene Triesch and his wife, LaVada, have found more meaning in writing and performing Christian music than they ever found in their country music careers. The goal of their music is to open one’s heart to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
After a yearlong study of the Bible, Gene was inspired to write gospel songs. The message came to Gene on a daily basis and, including those messages in his songs, made a tremendous impact on the congregation of the Triesches’ church. Gene and LaVada realized that they did, indeed, have a music ministry in the making! They minister with their testimony, teach about Bible prophecy and how it relates to modern Israel, and sing God’s praises with their original songs or old Gospel favorites.
The Triesches sold their business, The Deutsch Apple, in 2004, after releasing their first album, In God’s Time, produced by Bobby Flores. They followed this with two more albums: Set Free and At the Speed of Love. Their numerous awards include: 2005 Vocal Duo of the Year and 2006 Songwriter of the Year by the South Texas Gospel Music Association of San Antonio; Vocal Duo of the Year – 2009 by the STGMA; and a nomination for Vocal Duo of the Year 2005 by the Christian Country Music Association in Nashville. Their songs have been released throughout the United States, Europe, and Australia, many of which have hit the Top 100 Christian Country Charts. Although grateful for this recognition, awards are not what it is all about for this duo. They take their ministry very seriously, acknowledging that it is a gift from God and it’s all for the Glory of God!
Gene is the author of the book, Truth or Consequences: The Battle for Beulah Land, The Church in a Rearview Mirror. Born and raised in Blanco, Gene is a graduate of Texas A&M, a former U.S. Army officer, high school teacher, coach, and business owner. His sincere interest in the study of the Bible and Bible prophecy allowed God to take the reins to his and LaVada’s career. Their Menorah Music Ministry, launched in 2004, is in the business of sharing the importance of Bible prophecy and how it relates to the nation of Israel in modern times.
Truth or Consequences relates a brief history of the Church and how it has related to the Jewish people over the past 2000 years, along with the disastrous consequences of that relationship. The recent history of Israel tells us God’s plan and purposes are as relevant today as in the days of the prophet, Isaiah.
Hill Country Praise is scheduled for Saturday, September 26, in the courtyard at Blanco United Methodist Church. Hamburgers will be served at 5:30pm with gathering music provided by The Driftwood Gospel Band. The Triesches will then present their testimony and perform gospel music.
Please mark your calendar so you don’t miss this very special evening in Blanco. Invite your family, friends, and neighbors. This event is free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted at the door.
