A New Non-Profit Group forming in the Blanco Area
Wednesday, September 23, 2009 • Posted September 22, 2009

The name of the new non-profit environmental organization Blanco Verde translates from the Spanish: White/Green. They are committed to promoting local businesses, community activities, and sustainability for the Blanco River Watershed area, or help green our Hill Country home.

In order to introduce this new organization, a Harvest Moon Potluck and Pie Fest is planned for Saturday, October 3, at the Old Blanco County Courthouse, starting at 6:00pm. Bring your favorite pie or covered dish to this Kick-Off Cook-Off and learn more about Blanco Verde’s goals and their upcoming fall events. Meet your neighbors for dinner at 6:00pm. Pie judging starts at 8:00pm with awards at 8:30pm. Finishing the evening festivities, The Golden Rulers will play music until 11:00pm. Donation at the door is $5 or two pies (one for tasting and one for judging).

Blanco Verde hopes the whole Blanco area will come out to welcome and be welcomed, enjoy the pie, and join us in this venture. Contact Maggie Goodman at 830-833-0245 for more information.
