Blanco Pioneer Museum to Open in Pat Ryan Building
Wednesday, September 23, 2009 • Posted September 22, 2009

The name ‘Blanco Pioneer Museum’ has been cleared for use by the group establishing a museum for Blanco.

This will be in the newly restored Pat Ryan Building on Pecan Street and will be used for genealogy and historical exhibits and events.

The first exhibit will be “Women’s Work - Now and Then” and will feature many items that most of us have forgotten, and many that will be of interest to school children who have not had an opportunity to learn about them.

Those of you who have items that may fit into this exhibit are invited to loan them to the Pioneer Museum for display.

Showcases, small display tables and small pieces of furniture are also needed.

There will also be an outdoor display where some items of interest can be used.

People interested in helping with this kind of project or loaning items for display are urged to attend our next meeting on September 25 or call one of the following for information.

Pat Vallone, Display Chairman at 833-1972, Dennis Moore, Outside Display Chairman, Linda Howard, Education and Staffing, at 833-4971 or Nell Krueger Chairman at 833-5774, 830-285-5774.

Ms. Ryan’s generosity makes this undertaking possible and we hope many of you will join with us in this preservation effort.
