4th Brown Bag Lunch at Library
Wednesday, April 2, 2008 • Posted April 1, 2008

The fourth Blanco Library Brown Bag program will be held on Thursday, April 3, at noon. Featured on the program are three women who are well-known to Blanco residents: Sheryl Smith-Rodgers, Jackie Hinton, and Sandra Paine.

Sheryl, a Texas native and Blanco resident, has written on and photographed a variety of topics. An award-winning writer, she has been published in numerous state and national newspapers and magazines. She will be talking on and reading from her essay on kites.

Sandra Paine was instrumental in all phases of the Blanco Library and retired as Director after many years of service. She is living in New Braunfels but comes “home” to the Blanco Library often. She will be reviewing GROWING OLD FOR THE FIRST TIME.

Jackie Hinton, another native Texan, has traveled the world with her husband Greg, but always finds her way back home to Blanco. She will be reviewing PEOPLE OF THE BOOK by Geraldine Brooks, which is presently on The New York Times Best Seller List.

“People of the Book” would be a fitting name for this noontime series as a love of reading, books and a curiosity about the world are the only requirements for attending. Bring a sandwich and a friend and find out more about these three interesting and literary ladies and enjoy their timely book reviews.
