First and foremost this week, how many of you knew that Rudy retired as postmaster Friday before last? He said he would be back to check his bushes to make sure they were being cared for properly, but otherwise he was going to have a little R&R! Stop in and meet our new temporary postmistress – she is really a sweetie!
The Sunset Restaurant has finally been sold to – get this – John Smith and his family. He came in to the drugstore on Saturday when I was working and introduced himself to all of us. The menu is going to basically stay the same, but they will be open quite a few more hours. And Kimberly and Annette will still be there, so stop in and meet the Smith family from Houston.
Trinity’s Fall Fest was wonderful, and the food was great – if you didn’t get there, you missed some fun.
The regionally famous chef, Bud Bouldin, started working at Rockin’ R on September 30th. Stop in there and try his menu – anything he fixes will be delicious!
Marilyn, Lawrence, and Nan Mikes went to Van Vleck for the weekend to visit with Jeanette and David Leese. They were joined by Debbie, Bobby, Shelby, and Travis Burt of Seguin and Shelby’s friend, Tori. On Saturday, the guys went fishing and the girls went to Houston to visit with Jeanette’s daughter, Tammy Leese, and her son and family, David, Lisa, Makanna, Jackson, and Kadin Leese. Due to rain, the fishing wasn’t real good, but the visit was great. Saturday evening they went to the “Bull Blast” at the fairgrounds. A good time was had by all!
