Couple Escapes Truck and Trailer Wreck With Minor Injuries
Wednesday, October 14, 2009 • Posted October 13, 2009

James and Carol Horton of Blanco slid off FM 32 near Cox Road on October 3 at approximately 4:00pm. The couple was driving home with two horses they had just purchased at the livestock sale.

The roads were very slick and muddy. Carol was driving east on the way home and lost control of the pickup in the pouring rain.

The goose-neck trailer swung around and pushed the truck across the oncoming lane and into an embankment. The truck and trailer ended up facing northwest.

The occupants of the truck had minor injuries... but one of the horses was so stunned she refused to get up from the floor of the trailer where she had been thrown and was pinned under the partition between stalls.
