Pantherettes Gather for Reunion
Wednesday, October 14, 2009 • Posted October 13, 2009

For those of you who remember the days of the Blanco Pantherettes Drill Team, you’ll understand when we say that tradition was at its core. Lead by Shyrle Allen from 1982 to 1995, the dancers dominated the football field each Friday night with dynamic half-time performances entertaining the crowd with splits and high-kicks. With great leadership, they were also fortunate enough to perform in various competitions and, for several years, on the streets of New York via the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. So many special memories were created over the years and this reunion sparked a new tradition with the sisterhood of girls having grown into lovely women, sharing their lives and creating new memories.

The first annual Pantherettes Reunion was held October 10th at Riley’s BBQ on the square in Blanco and eleven Ex-Pantherettes attended. A huge thank you goes out to Riley’s BBQ for their support by allowing the ladies to host the reunion in their party room. Bob Riley was so helpful with preparations leading up to the big day and even the wait staff went above and beyond the day of the event.
