7th Grade

The Panthers turned in a stellar defensive performance in holding the Bobcats to minus 34 yards for the game. Alex Juarez, Grant Garrow, Dylan Bates, Logan Dodd, and Hunter Goodman all made big hits and tackles for losses throughout the game.

Offensively, the Panthers scored three TDs in the first half, with Aikman Elrod scoring on runs of 65, 2, and 25 yards. Carson Kipp converted two PATs, putting Blanco up 22-0 at the half. The second half saw Devlin Moore add two TDs on four-yard and 75-yard runs, and with both PATs good by Kipp and Breeding, Blanco led 38-0 in the fourth. Blanco nearly added another touchdown at the end, as Carson Kipp returned a punt 22 yards, followed by Jake Breeding running for 12 yards, but the Panthers knelt out the game and improved their record to 5-0 on the season.

8th Grade

Up to the middle of the second quarter, it appeared Comfort could hang with the Panthers, until Blanco exploded for two TDs before the half. David Ramirez dashed 20 yards for the first touchdown on a reverse, and Alex Palos passed to Ramirez for the PAT, putting Blanco up 8-0. Dakota Perkins gave Blanco the ball right back by intercepting the Bobcats on the next series. David Ramirez hit John Hodge on a 30-yard halfback pass, getting Blanco to midfield. Alex Palos then connected with David Ramirez for a 50-yard TD pass, leaving the Panthers up 14-0 at the half.

At the start of the 3rd, Comfort recovered a Panther fumble and scored on a seven yard run, cutting the lead to 14-6. But it was all Blanco after that, with Alex Palos scoring two TDs on runs of 44 and 27; one of those set up by Brian Brecka’s QB sack for a 15-yard loss on 4th down. David Ramirez capped off the Panther scoring with a 56-yard TD run. Kyle Sauceda passed to Alex Palos and Carlin Green for two PATs, and Tyler Clark ran in for the third PAT, leaving the final score 38-6.

The 8th grade improved to 5-0 on the year, and will face Harper in Blanco for the next district game.
