The BYFL JV Gold team faced the Dripping Springs Tigers Saturday in Johnson City, and dropped their first game of the season. The Tigers held Blanco on their first possession, forcing a punt. Blanco recovered the ball after it touched a Tiger player, but the umpire overruled and the Tigers had control deep in Panther territory. They would punch in for the score, but the extra point attempt was stuffed, and the Tigers led 6-0. On the ensuing kick-off, Aikman Elrod would return the kick 76 yards for the score, but a penalty nullified the TD. The Panthers were unable to score before the half ended. In the second half Blanco would drive inside the 10 yard line twice, but was unable to score. The Tigers would add another td and convert, with the final 13-0. Although the defense played well, the team was hurt by missing starting FB/DE Ryan Ronces (knee injury), and Aaron Uballe and Ty Gathright would have injuries during the game. This Saturday is the leagues only home game this season, with our Freshman at 9:00am, JV Gold at 1:30, JV Blue at 3:00, and the Varsity at 6:00pm. Come out and support these kids against Dripping Springs and Marble Falls!
