This Halloween, we revisit Rob Zombie’s remake of the classic original movie Halloween. I get bored going back and watching certain scary classics, while others are timeless, so I was excited about this remake because going back now, the original lacked the horror that I remembered as a teen. I’m not a fan of Rob Zombie and have found his movies to be way too over the top, but knew if he ever had something to work with that was already a good script his horror mindset would help. And it did. Zombie takes the original and expands the story to include what happened in Michael Myers’ childhood and why he became the monster.

The story starts out perfectly, delving into his past of neglect and abuse from a stepfather. These things led to the crime causing him to be institutionalized in a psycho ward for a long period of time. This is where we start to pick up on the original film and the institutionalized Michael who now, as an adult, snaps and well... you know, time to run for cover. Eat some candy and revisit a new modern classic in Halloween. 3 scary paws.
