Wednesday, October 28, 2009 • Posted October 27, 2009

The American Legion Memorial Highway Post 352 in Blanco will be hosting the 2nd Annual Veteran’s Parade on November 14 beginning at 10:00am, honoring all veterans, past and present, who have served our country.

All entries are free and should sport a military, veteran, or red, white, and blue theme. There will be separate trailers for disabled veterans. Please be lined up at the Blanco Cemetery by 9:30am. The parade will be led by the American Legion Color Guard.

The parade route will start at the cemetery, go up Live Oak Street to the nursing home, back down Pecan Street, and around the Courthouse Square.

The veteran’s trailers will stop at the entrance of Bindseil Park (next to City Hall). Everyone is invited to the Veteran’s Memorial program at Bindseil Park. There will be guest speakers and songs to enjoy.

Following the program, the American Legion will offer a delicious Spaghetti Dinner, complete with garlic bread, salad, tea, and assorted desserts. Prices: Adults $6 and children $3.

Please register your entry in the parade (even if it is just your car carrying a veteran) by calling Donnea Simon at 833-4460 or Roxanna Avants at 512-627-0584.
