May I Expound On My Lord?
Wednesday, October 28, 2009 • Posted October 27, 2009

May I brag on Jesus? The Lord does take care of His sheep. My brother and I used to claim the “black sheep” title. We always felt different from the rest of our brothers, and perhaps we are. I went astray, but thank God our parents and grandparents kept His commands, because (s God promised) He has blessed us, and has always had His right hand in ours. Back then I wasn’t exactly chasing after our Lord.

Back then I fit right into the following Scriptures from Psalm 73:14-28:

“14 I get nothing but trouble all day long;

every morning brings me pain.

15 If I had really spoken this way to others, I would have been a traitor to your people.

16 So I tried to understand why the wicked prosper. But what a difficult task it is!

17 Then I went into your sanctuary, O God, and I finally understood the destiny of the wicked.

18 Truly, you put them on a slippery path and send them sliding over the cliff to destruction.

19 In an instant they are destroyed, completely swept away by terrors.

20 When you arise, O Lord, you will laugh at their silly ideas as a person laughs at dreams in the morning.

21 Then I realized that my heart was bitter, and I was all torn up inside.

22 I was so foolish and ignorant— I must have seemed like a senseless animal to you.

23 Yet I still belong to you; you hold my right hand.

24 You guide me with your counsel, leading me to a glorious destiny.

25 Whom have I in heaven but you? I desire you more than anything on earth.

26 My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever.

27 Those who desert him will perish, for you destroy those who abandon you.

28 But as for me, how good it is to be near God!

I have made the sovereign Lord my shelter, and I will tell everyone about the wonderful things you do.”

May I tell you that God does answer our prayers? Keep on praying for our leaders and people in authority here in America and keep praying for Israel. God hears us, and there is evidence He has His mighty right hand in ours. Blanco County is blessed, and the Lord is in control, even though sometimes we can’t see the end from the beginning; He sure can. Keep trusting in our Lord. Don’t give up on Him, and don’t give in to doubts or worry. Keep casting your burdens on our Lord, and keep your nose in your bibles. Trust and obey, for there’s no other way, to be happy in Jesus, than to trust and obey.

I can’t speak for my brother, but now I can relate and feel the same way as it is written in Psalm 63:1-11 “ 1O God, You are my God, earnestly will I seek You; my inner self thirsts for You, my flesh longs and is faint for You, in a dry and weary land where no water is.

2So I have looked upon You in the sanctuary to see Your power and Your glory.

3Because Your loving-kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You.

4So will I bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name.

5My whole being shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips

6When I remember You upon my bed and meditate on You in the night watches.

7For you have been my help, and in the shadow of your wings will I rejoice.

8My whole being follows hard after You and clings closely to You; your right hand upholds me.

9But those who seek and demand my life to ruin and destroy it shall [themselves be destroyed and] go into the lower parts of the earth [into the underworld of the dead].

10They shall be given over to the power of the sword; they shall be a prey for foxes and jackals.

11But the king shall rejoice in God; everyone who swears by Him [that is, who binds himself by God's authority, acknowledging his supremacy, and devoting himself to His glory and service alone; every such one] shall glory, for the mouths of those who speak lies shall be stopped.” Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
