Scootique Takes First Place at Harvest Classic Rally
Wednesday, October 28, 2009 • Posted October 27, 2009

Jennie Thomas, owner of Scootique in Fredericksburg Texas took home a first place trophy at the prestigious Harvest Classic Vintage Motorcycle Show. Jennie won the 1970-1974 class with her 1972 Triumph Daytona T100R. This class had the largest number of entries in the show with over 25 of the finest vintage bikes in the Southwest. A first place win is the ultimate honor as votes are cast by other restorers, builders, collectors and rally participants.

Ms. Thomas’ Triumph was rescued as a large pile of rusting metal from a barn in Mason and was completely rebuilt and restored over the last three months to concours condition by her dad, Billy Burdett, British bike guru Robert “Red” Gray, Scootique service manager Larry Helm and his dad Tom, machinist Troy Spies and über-biker Dwayne “Buzzy” Schaetter.

The Harvest Classic European and Vintage Motorcycle Rally is organized by Central Texas Motorcycle Charities and is held the third weekend in October in Luckenbach, Texas. All money raised at the rally is donated to the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation. In the first five years the rally has raised over $145,000 toward the fight of childhood cancer. This year’s rally was attended by over 3000 participants and is the largest vintage rally in Central Texas.
