Junior Varsity Brings Down the Eagles
Wednesday, October 28, 2009 • Posted October 27, 2009

The Blanco Panther JV Team needed only the first half of the game to defeat the Johnson City Eagles 46-0.

Sam Isenberg started the scoring for Blanco with a 70 yard rush to the end zone. Isenberg then zipped a pass to Tim Goodman for the 2-point conversion. On the next Panther possession, Isenberg tossed the ball to Grady Childress for the touchdown. On a quarterback keeper, Isenberg was successful for the 2-point conversion. Tim Goodman caught the next touchdown pass from Isenberg; the extra point attempt was no good.

The Panther defense was stifling, forcing punts and turnovers throughout the game. Petey Chalico grabbed the first Blanco interception. Taking advantage of this turnover, Isenberg threw the next touchdown pass to Chalico. Isenberg then tacked on the 2-point conversion with a run up the middle.

Tim Goodman added two more touchdown runs for the Panthers, with Isenberg rushing for one of the 2-point conversions and passing to Childress in the end zone for the other.

In the second half, Garrett Gombert made the second Blanco interception on the six yard line, stopping the Eagles best drive of the game.

JV plays their next game on Thursday, October 29 at 6:00pm against the Cole JV in San Antonio at Cole High School.
