For those of you who were waiting with bated breath for the publishing of the winners of the Dairy Queen pumpkin carving content, wait no longer! JJ in the 4-7 age group won with his Vampire, Logan in the 8-11 age group won with his Skull, and Lainie in the 12-15 age group won with her Bat in Moon. Sadly, no adults entered.......they could have had lots of delicious treats, but now the swag all goes to the kids, who will enjoy it, I am sure!
The Christmas parade is fast approaching (December 12 at 10:00am) and I am sending out a CALL FOR HELP for anyone who wishes to enter a float, has horses they want to ride, animals they want to walk, a car full of pretty girls they want to drive, or music they want to play. Linda Howard and I are in charge this year, Paulette Stepp finally taking a well-earned retirement from the stresses of parade life, and I don’t think there is anyone we would turn down. E-mail me at potpourri@blanco news.com with the information and I will be calling you in the next week or so. We want to keep the Christmas parade going, with the goal being to make it bigger and better year by year until it is on of the highlights of the Christmas season here in Blanco. I have faith in you Blanco County-ites —— don’t let me down!
The BUMC bazaar is this Saturday at the church. The baked goods are out of this world - I am sure the other areas are really cool too, but I don’t leave my chair at the cashier’s table, as I don’t want to miss the new arrivals people bring in!
There are lots of things to enjoy with this cooler weather, so get out and enjoy!
