The Keep Texas Beautiful Recycle Day will be November 17 this year. Maggie Goodman, with Blanco Verde will join with KBB to meet with the BISD Elementary School and provide information to the students about the importance of recycling. Blanco Verde is a new organization in our community. Their mission is to help educate citizens about protecting our environment and rivers. KBB welcomes their participation on Texas Recycle Day and looks forward to working together on other projects to help Make Blanco Beautiful and Keep Blanco Beautiful, clean and healthy.

Christmas is just around the corner and it is Christmas Lighting time. We will start this week hanging lights on the Blanco City Hall, Byars Building and the Pergola in Bindseil Park. On Saturday, November 14, the Leos have volunteered to help wrap the tree trunks in Bindseil Park and the Pecan Bottom. The Leos is the Lions Club Youth Group. The Blanco United Methodist Church group will join the Leos to help. On November 18 and 19, the PEC crew, who have helped KBB for nine years, will be here with their cherry picker to add the lights to the tops of the trees.

Remember that the night after Thanksgiving has been one of the big nights for our children and families to come to the Blanco Historic Square to see the lighting of the courthouse and square, visit all of our merchants, enjoy the music and good treats and see Santa. Let's all make this a special time again this year and fellowship together.
