The seventh grade girls took second place over all in the district meet on Thursday, April 3.
In the field events Kelsey Schwind took first place in the shot put with a throw of 29’9 1/4” followed by Raini Romero who threw for 29’8” for second place and Mackenzie Johnson who took third place with a throw of 27’3”.
Romero placed first in the discus with a throw of 73’3” which is a school record in a district meet. Harvest Cox took third place with at throw of 66’ 2 1/2”
Monica Flores placed third in the pole vault by clearing 6’ McClinton took fourth place by also clearing 6’ but with more misses.
McClinton took second place in the triple jump as she jumped 29’ 7 1/4” and in the high jump Angel Williams took fifth place by clearing 4’2”.
The 4x100 relay team Natalie Barnett, Angel Williams, Callie Culton and Leslie McClinton took second place with a time of 56.91. The 4x200 meter relay team, Barnett, Echoe Burkhart, Williams and McClinton placed second with a time of 2:01.26 and the 4x400 meter relay team, Barnett, Burkhart, Flores and McClinton set a new school record with a time of 4:35.23.
In the 200-meter dash Callie Culton took second place with a time of 30.18 followed by Flores who placed fifth with a time of 31.08 and Romero who took sixth place with a time of 31.28. Flores took third place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 71.43 followed by Paxston Koehl who took fifth place with a time of 73.07 and Flores who took sixth place with a time of 73.3.
In the 1600-meter run Vicky Sanchez took fourth place with a time of 6:46 followed by Kendra Holmes who took sixth place with a time of 7:04
Burkhart took second place in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 19.1 followed by Williams who took sixth place with a time of 20.41
Romero took second place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 16.6 followed by Culton who had a time of 16.72 for third place and Schwind who had a time of 17.27 to take sixth place.
Sanchez took fifth place with a time of 3:00.22 in the 800-meter run followed by Holmes who had a time of 3:08.
The eighth grade girls took first place to lay claim to the district title with a time of 177 points beating the old point title by 37 points.
Simbry Montooth took first place in the shot put with a throw of 24’6” followed by Samantha Primeaax who threw 23’ 7 1/2” for third place.
Emmalee Arlitt took fourth place in the discus with a throw of 64’9”. Justine Cooley jumped 29’10 1/2” to claim first place in the triple jump and Lindsey Jenkins cleared 4’2” in the high jump for fourth place. Cooley took first place in the long jump with a jump of 13’6’ followed by Kaylee Martinez who jumped 13’ 2 1/4”.
In the pole vault area, Abbey Weaver took first place by clearing 7” followed by Shelby Staats who cleared 6” for second place and Natalie Stahlam who took third place.
The 4x100 meter relay team, Lindsey Jenkins, Kayla Martinez, Abbey Weaver and Justine Cooley, took first place with a time of 55.55. The 4x200 meter relay team, Jenkins, Martinez, Cooley and Micaela Klein took first place with a time of 1:59.26 and the 4x400 meter relay team, Weaver, Klein, Jenkins and Cooley took first place and setting a new school record with a time of 4:31.
In the 800-meter dash Stahlma took fifth place with a time of 2:56 followed by Madelyn Cox who had a time of 3:02, in the 1600-meter run Stahlman took fourth place with a time of 6:37.
Crystal Flores took fourth place in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 20.56.
In the 100-meter dash Montooth took first place with a time of 14.9. Weaver took first place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 65.5 followed by Klein who had a time of 68.2 to take third place.
Martinez took first place in the 200-meter dash followed by Montooth who ran a 31.84 to claim sixth place.
