Wednesday, December 2, 2009 • Posted December 1, 2009

John Dorman Davis was born to William F. and Alice (Sally) Davis in Saltillo, TX, on August 19, 1920. He was the seventh child of thirteen children. He passed from this world on November 27, 2009, in San Marcos, TX, at the age of 89.

John leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Diana, of 62 years, two sons, Glen Davis and wife Suzanne of Mertzon, TX, and Rodney Davis of San Antonio, TX, two sisters, Mary Alice Odom of West Monroe, LA, and Faye Ruth Tucker of Shreveport, LA, three grandchildren, Kevin Davis, serving in the Marines, Rebecca Davis of Mertzon, TX, and Rachael Davis also of Mertzon, and a large group of cherished nieces and nephews, and many, many friends.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2009, at 10:00am at the Blanco United Methodist Church, with Pastor Ken Greene and Wally Hiller, a pastor of our former church while he lived in San Antonio, TX. Blanco is a close and friendly town and so very many have given time and deeds, they make it easier for us.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to the Blanco United Methodist Church.
