Christmas Parade Set For December 12
Wednesday, December 2, 2009 • Posted December 1, 2009

Blanco was dealt a crushing blow when the coordinator of our annual Christmas Parade decided to leave the position after eight years. Mrs. Stepp is now enjoying her retirement, but we are trying to bring together a parade so assistance is needed and this is where you can help. We need floats, cars with girls, marching bands, clowns, well, just anything that makes a parade for young children. We have had quite a number of people interested, but we would still like more.

We are planning this event for December 12, 2009, in Blanco, Texas. The start time is 10:00am. We will be lining up the parade at the Blanco City Cemetery, starting at 8:00am. Because of the time constraints, having taken this project over just a few weeks ago, we aren’t planning a huge parade; we are just asking Blanco’s citizens and businesses to participate, with a vintage car, a VIP in that car, a small trailer float, a costumed walking group, use radios for the music and do a float, horse-draw carriage, a few llamas, horses, or a dog-walking group. You can contact Deb Yorgensen at 833-1218 or Linda Howard at 833-4971 for more details. And after this parade is finished, would anyone like to take over the position of Blanco Christmas Parade coordinator?
