Wednesday, December 2, 2009 • Posted December 1, 2009

Three weeks ago, nine out of the eleven varsity ball players made the switch from volleyball to basketball and are adjusting to the change from hitting to shooting the ball. On Tuesday, November 24, the Panthers tangled with the San Antonio Christian Lions, losing 36-50. The game was close at halftime, 19-23, but the Lions built their lead in the third quarter and held back rallies by the Blanco girls through the fourth quarter.

Abbey Weaver and Lacee Hunter were high-point scorers with eight each; Alyssa Warner added six, and Justine Cooley tacked on five.

The Junior Varsity girls were victorious over SAC with a score of 48-35. Raini Romero pumped in 18 points as the leading scorer; Mishelle Calzoncit dropped in 14 and Riki Cole added 12.
