Local Author To Hold Book Signing

Johnson City, TX – Kelly Carper Polden, a local author and communications consultant, will hold a book signing on Tuesday, December 15 from 3-5pm at the Closer Walk Christian bookstore, 316 E. Austin St. in Fredericksburg. She will sign copies of the newly released anthology entitled Christmas Miracles ($15), edited by Cecil Murphey and Marley Gibson and published by St. Martin's Press. Ms. Carper Polden's short story entitled “The Miracle of the Lord's Prayer” is featured in the book that was released in late October and is available in bookstores across the country.

According to the publisher, robust book orders have already catapulted Christmas Miracles into its third printing with more than 44,000 copies purchased by book buyers. Barnes & Noble doubled its order after a buyer declared Christmas Miracles to be a top pick for holiday gift giving. A media outlet in Europe is negotiating rights to translate the book into several languages and distribute it around the world.

Ms. Carper Polden's story “The Miracle of the Lord's Prayer,” is a true tale how her father survived and triumphed over the loss of his leg in a 1949 accident. Irl "Pat" Carper rehabilitated himself and went on to live a long and successful life while counseling other amputees who lost a limb in accidents or as a result of war...
