On December 19 and 20, the Community of Blanco will present the theatrical production of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever by Barbara Robinson.
The play will take place at the First Baptist Church of Blanco. The exciting and hysterical plot drew kids from all over the surrounding area, and as far as Boerne to participate in the auditions.
After a full day of auditions, Wendy Watson, the Theatrical Director, was able to cast a very talented group of kids for the play. With Mrs. Watson’s expertise (she has a degree in drama, and was on the founding board of S.T.A.G.E., the Spotlight Theatre Arts Group Etc. located in Bulverde, Texas) and Vickie Pautz as the Producer and Musical Director, the cast and crew have been given a wonderful opportunity to learn what a true theatrical production involves.
The cast is made up of kids ages 5-17, primarily from Blanco, with a full crew of adults and kids working backstage.
The storyline is set in the 1950s and is about the Herdman family, made up of six kids who are the “worst kids in the history of the world!” They smoke cigars, burn down stores, and steal things.
They show up at Sunday School for the free food, and end up getting the lead parts in the Church Christmas Pageant!
We have all been working hard learning our lines and rehearsing since the middle of September. All of us invite you to come see the Christmas Story as you have never seen it before. It will be an enjoyment for all ages!
Show times are Saturday, December 19 at 7:00pm and Sunday, December 20 at 4:00pm. Location is the First Baptist Church of Blanco, Texas. Admission is FREE so come enjoy this Christmas treat!
