Christmas Tree Ornaments Needed

December 5, 1969

Santa Clause will be coming to the Chamber of Commerce grounds for the Children’s Program on Saturday, December 13.

Member of the Yucca Garden Club are asked to please bring in their ornaments for the decoration of the tree on Friday, December 12.

A box has been placed on the front porch of the chamber building for the convenience of the club members.

Julia Elliott HCA guest

December 7, 1979

Julia Elliott will be demonstrating artists for the Hill Country Artists meeting Monday, December 10 at the Catholic Parish Hal in Blanco, at 10:00 a.m.

The award willing artist is a native Texan and loves to paint the Hill Country and wild flowers. Her work hangs in private collections throughout the U.S. and the Orient.

Her paintings may be seen in galleries in Blanco, Fredericksburg, Austin, San Antonio, and Richardson.

Everyone is invited to come and see this artist and bring their paints and paint along.

Metering Thursday to discuss BISD Discipline Management Plan

December 11, 1985

A 7:00 p.m. meeting Thursday, December 12, will be held at Blanco’s High School to receive input concerning the district’s Discipline Management Plan. A committee of 14 consisting of students, parents, teachers, and administrator develop med the plan which was presented to the Blanco ISD Board of Trustees Monday night.

Patron are asked to attend the Thursday night meeting to give input and ask questions concerning the overall plan. Any input received will be provided to the Board prior to its approval of a plan for the district.

Junior Class To Present Play December 6

The Junior Class would like to remind everyone of the play “The Cannibal Queen” which they will present Saturday, December 6, at 7:45 p.m. in the High School auditorium.

Everyone is invited.

4-H Food Show set Sunday, December 15

December 11, 1985

The 1985 Blanco County 4-H Food Show is set for Sunday, December 15th at the Blanco School Cafeteria. Forty-eight 4-H’ers will be judged on the food they entered, their nutritional knowledge, and their interview skills.

Food categories entered are Main Dish, Fruits & vegetables, Breads & Cereals, and Nutritional Snacks & deserts with age divisions of Sub-Juniors, Juniors and Seniors.

Twelve top winners of the Food Show will received a ribbon, a trophy, prize money, and a product from the Adams Extract Company at Austin.

These top winners will also advance to District competition in College Station January 18th. The public is invited to the tasting time and awards program at approximately 4:15 p.m.

Cookbooks of the 4-H’ers recipes will be on sale for $1.00 each at this time.

1st Baptist sets Christmas musical December 16

December 7, 1979

“The King of Love” a Christmas musical by Rodger Strader will be presented Sunday, December16 at 7:30 p.m. by the choir of the First Baptist Church of Blanco.

Santa in Blanco December 15

December 11, 1985

The Blanco YHT announces Santa’s arrival into town on a fire truck at 2:00p.m. on December 15.

He will take his place in front of Hill Country Place between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
