BUMC to Host 16th Annual Christmas Gifts for Children
Wednesday, December 9, 2009 • Posted December 8, 2009

With the Christmas season quickly approaching, organizers of the local toy drive made the decision to suspend the drive this year due to lack of volunteers.

However, realizing that the need was most likely greater this year than in years past, the Blanco Methodist Church decided to take over the reigns and make sure that families in Blanco who needed help would receive it.

Next Saturday, December 19, the 16th Annual Christmas Gifts for Children held at Blanco United Methodist Church.

Volunteers will help parents select toys for their children twelve years old and under from 1:00pm until 5:00pm. The selection is first come, first served.

Monetary donations may be dropped off at Blanco United Methodist Church office until 3:00pm Thursday.

We will need a lot of volunteers on Saturday, so if you would like to donate an hour or more of your time for a very worthy cause, please come to the Fellowship Hall at BUMC between 9:00am and 4:00pm.

We need help setting up the age/gender toy tables, Santas’ helpers to assist parents in making their selections, and Christmas elves to wrap all the gifts.

Your time is truly a gift to the many families that count on our toy program
