•Yucca Garden Club - Christmas Lights Contest: Deadline for entry has been extended to Friday afternoon, Dec 18. Two prizes will be awarded – one for the best lighting of a business and one for the best lighting of a home. Pick up an entry form at the Blanco Chamber or call Retta at 833-4720. Please use a separate form for each business or home to be entered. If entering by phone, be sure to give your name, address, number, and whether you are entering your business or home.

•16th Annual Christmas Gifts for Children: Blanco United Methodist Church, December 19, from 1-5pm. Volunteers will help parents select toys for their children 12 years and under The selection is first come, first served. Monetary donations may be dropped off at Blanco United Methodist Church office until 3pm on Thursday, Dec. 17. We need volunteers Saturday, so if you would like to donate an hour or more of your time, please come to the Fellowship Hall at BUMC between 9:00am and 4:00pm. We need help setting up the age/gender toy tables, Santas’ helpers to assist parents, and Christmas elves to wrap gifts.

•The Best Christmas Pageant Ever! The community of Blanco presents a theatrical production of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever! by Barbara Robinson. The Christmas Story as you’ve never seen it before! Performances held at First Baptist Church in Blanco on Saturday, December 19 at 7:00pm and Sunday, December 20 at 4:00pm. Admission is free, so come enjoy this holiday treat.

•Christmas Eve Service of Candlelight, Carols and Communion at New Hope Lutheran. December 24 at 5:30pm, New Hope Lutheran Chapel, 9th and Elm (one block west of Shamrock station). Everyone in the community is invited to attend.

•Santa’s Ranch, the spectacular Christmas light park with more than 1.5 million twinkling lights on 12 acres, opened for its 7th season on Fri, Nov. 6. Located on I-35 between New Braunfels and San Marcos, the park has become a holiday destination for families through out central TX. Open every night through Jan. 2.
