Wednesday, December 16, 2009 • Posted December 15, 2009

The Blanco High School Student Council began gathering toys for their first annual Holiday Toy Drive on December 7, hoping to donate them to the local toy drive effort that has been benefitting local families for the past fifteen years. After beginning to collect for the Holiday Toy Drive, it was reported that the community toy drive had been canceled.

Shortly after the cancellation, the Blanco United Methodist Church took up the cause; announcing that the Christmas Gifts for Children would continue.

The BHS Student Council will collect toys through Thursday, December 17 during fifth period. The BUMC will host the toy drive this Saturday, December 19 from 1:00pm - 5:00pm.

Volunteers will help parents select toys for their children twelve years old and under. The selection is first come, first served.

Monetary donations may be dropped off at Blanco United Methodist Church office until 3:00pm Thursday.

If you would like to donate an hour or more of your time for a very worthy cause, please come to the Fellowship Hall at BUMC between 9:00am and 4:00pm.
