Anderson Wins Honors at Cougar Classic
Wednesday, December 16, 2009 • Posted December 15, 2009

After a solid showing at the Dripping Springs Fall Classic, the Blanco FFA Chapter was again well represented in New Braunfels this past weekend at the annual Cougar Classic Jackpot Show.

On Saturday, senior FFA member Kaleigh Anderson was awarded a buckle after she was selected the overall showmanship winner in the senior division of the steer show. Kaleigh would continue to do well as she would also win another buckle for exhibiting the Reserve Champion American Breed Cross steer, as well as a 2nd place European steer in one of the show’s largest classes.

Earlier in the day, FFA member Cody Perez also did well, taking home several ribbons from a very large and competitive hog show. Overall, Cody placed 2nd in both the Hampshire and Dark OPB divisions, in addition to placing 3rd and 5th in two other OPB classes.
