Shower

January 13, 1961

Members of the Blanco Chapter of the Easter Star presented two boxes of gifts Wednesday at a shower given for Roy Dean, new baby of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. A. Reed.

Members of the Chapter who presented the gifts were Mrs. Helen Waxler, Miss Pearl Byars, Mrs. Ruby Poenisch, Mrs. E.R. Wilson, Mrs. C.W. Menzler, and Mrs. Stella Rust.

Refreshments of cake and coffee were served at 10:00 a.m.

Chance upped by Air Force

January 11, 1980

Oxford, England – Ronald K. Chance, son of Mrs. Vernon Zuercher of Blanco, has been promoted in the U.S. Air Force to the rank of airman first class.

Airman Chance is a security specialist with a unit of the United States Air Forces in Europe at RAF Upper Heyford, here.

Blanco Electric Service Company

Blanco Electric Service Company is now in business in the building next to the Blanco Realty Company. This business is operated by Paul Drury and provides repair service on washers, dryers, rangers, other electric appliances. He is also expert at house wiring.

His place of business is easy to find since a neon sign has been installed on the front which is on Highway 281. If your appliances are out of order Mr. Dury invites you to call him at TE 3-5181.

Artist elect

January 11, 1980

The Hill Country Artists will meet at Little Blanco Inn at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 14.

This will be the annual business meeting and election of officers.

Dr. Bullard Presides At CRIDA Meeting

January 13, 1961

Dr. R.E.. Bullard presided at an executive meeting of CRIDA in Austin Wednesday night. Plans were laid at this meeting for CRIDA activities on the local level in the Chamber of Commerce membership.

The next meeting representing the full CRIDA membership is under planning at this time to be held in Bay City in the late spring.

Hermann Sons to Bulverde

January 11, 1980

Bulverde – Hardy A. Mosel of Fredericksburg, first grand vice president of the Order of the Sons of Hermann in Texas, will install officers of four area Herman Sons Lodges and one junior chapter in ceremonies at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 13, in the Bulverde Community Center.

Having their officers installed will be New Braunfels Lodge No. 21, Prinz Solms Lodge No. 136, Twins Sisters.

Student Council Meet at Blanco

January 13, 1961

The Blanco High School Student Council was host for the District meeting held January 9 in the Catholic Parish Hall.

The main topic of the businesses meeting was the election officers for the spring semester. Officers schools elected were Present – San Marcos, Academy, Vice President – San Marcos High School, Secretary – Blanco, Treasurer – Johnson City.

Afterwards, Blanco provided entertainment and refreshments for all.
