I Must Tell Jesus
Wednesday, January 13, 2010 • Posted January 12, 2010

I don’t know about you, but this last hard freeze caused a lot of problems for us. Since Christmas we’ve had to replace 10 feet of water line, repair a faucet in my green house, replace the bathroom sink, a propane heater; and now something’s wrong with the washing machine. On top of all that, my dear close friend, Doris, went to be with our Lord this weekend. We are tired and my heart is heavy. I ask myself “who can I call to share my burdens and grief?”

The lyrics to a song come up in my mind. They play over and over. “Where could I go, where could I go, seeking a refuge for my soul? I’m needing a friend, to help me in the end, where could I go, but to the Lord?” So I pick up my guitar and sing and cry, and as I turn the pages in my hymnal, my fingers find another song entitled “I Must Tell Jesus” and the words in that song tell it all. “I must tell Jesus all of my trials. I cannot bear these burdens alone. In my distress, He kindly will help me, He ever loves and cares for His own. I must tell Jesus, I must tell Jesus, I cannot bear my burdens alone. I must tell Jesus, I must tell Jesus, Jesus can help me, Jesus alone.”

God can lift us when everything else is tumbling down around us. Jesus said “28Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

Psalm 55:22 “22Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.”

Psalm42:11 “11Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.”

Jesus said “27Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27

Psalm 37:7 “7Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.”

Hebrews 4:10-11 “10For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. 11Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.”

If you’re hurting, or feeling blue, Jesus will help you. Sing, even when you’re crying. “4Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.” Matthew 5:4
