PEC Scholarships Support Education
Wednesday, January 13, 2010 • Posted January 12, 2010

Pedernales Electric is once again offering scholarships to high school seniors in its service area. PEC awards fifty $1,000 scholarships to use toward expenses at any accredited college, technical school or trade school, or other post-secondary educational institution.

“An education is one of the most powerful tools a young adult can possess today, and PEC fully supports students pursuing their educational goals,” said PEC Community Relations Manager Toni Reyes.

In order to be eligible, students must be seniors in high school, and their parents or legal guardians must be PEC members. Scholarship recipients are chosen based on application responses, academic performance, standardized test results and financial need, as well as motivation and personal character. The PEC Scholarship Committee selects independent judges to review scholarship applications and select recipients.

Applications are available from area high school counselors, any PEC office and online at www.pec.coop. They must be postmarked or turned in to any PEC office by Monday, March 1, 2010.
