Wendy’s Red Door is a Decorative Painting teaching studio located just outside Blanco off Cox Road.

Decorative Painting as defined by The Society of Decorative Painters (SDP) “...is a diverse art form that uses a variety of techniques and media to decorate functional and non-functional surfaces.

Decorative painting is often done on common items we use every day, but many ...also paint on traditional art surfaces such as canvas and watercolor paper.”

Decorative Painting encompasses every type of painting from hobbyists to professional fine artists incorporating the styles and techniques of the past into the trends and materials of the present.

Studio owner, Wendy Watson is an active member of SDP and has been teaching for over 20 years, 2 1/2 in Blanco. Kathy Swigon, CDA (Certified Decorative Artist) is also a teacher in the studio.

Students travel from all over central Texas and as far away as Dallas and Houston to paint in Wendy’s studio. Classes are offered in acrylics to all levels of painters.
