I do not claim to be a scholar, in fact, I’m glad I’m not. A person doesn’t have to be to understand what Jesus said in order to be saved. But there are some who are teaching false doctrine, and some are scholars and some are regular people like me. Anything or anyone that pushes an idea that is contrary to what Jesus said is “false doctrine” whether you recognize it or not.

Do you know who the “elect” are? Those of us who choose to believe in Jesus as our risen Lord and Savior, as the Son of Man and the Son of God, are the “elect.”

Matthew 24:24 - “For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”

Matthew 24:31 – “And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”

Colossians 3:12-14 - “12Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

13Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

14And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.”

So, we are the “elect.” And many people who are the “elect” are being misled because they are deviating from the very Word of God, which is Truth, to believe other people who are misconstruing God’s Word.

Please rely on your inner man, your heart where Jesus’ Spirit speaks to you. Please don’t rely on your own self for understanding. Some things we just have to believe, and not understand with our minds!

“5Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5

God’s Word says Wisdom is the fear of the Lord and turning from evil is understanding.

“7Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.” Proverbs 3:7

Job 28:28 “And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.”

Job 32:8 “But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.”

Jesus said “12I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, if anyone steadfastly believes in Me, he will himself be able to do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these, because I go to the Father.

13And I will do [I Myself will grant] whatever you ask in My Name [as presenting all that I am], so that the Father may be glorified and extolled in (through) the Son.

14[Yes] I will grant [I Myself will do for you] whatever you shall ask in My Name [as [c]presenting all that I am].

15If you [really] love Me, you will keep (obey) My commands.

16And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever--

17The Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive (welcome, take to its heart), because it does not see Him or know and recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him, for He lives with you [constantly] and will be in you.” John 14:12-17

Did you notice (above) that the Amplified bible says in verse 12 “if anyone Steadfastly believes in Me?” I take that to mean that we are to remain steadfast in our belief in His teachings and His Truth, and not deviate from what He says to anyone else’s beliefs. Be careful what you allow yourself to hear, because when the beginning thoughts of unbelief get inside you, they’re so hard to get rid of. They cause you to doubt, and wonder about what is truth.

Jesus is Truth! He is the Way and the Light!

“6Jesus said to him, I am the Way and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except by (through) Me.” John 14:6

John 8:12 – “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
