Amy Kate Boyce Pozniak, born on 7 July 1913 in Burnet, Texas, daughter of Emma Kate Engle Boyce and Jack Boyce, died on 9 February 2010 at the age of 96.

Amy Kate was married to Francis L. (Rocky) Pozniak on 8 September 1934. They had been married 62 years at the time of his death in 1996. Amy Kate was the consummate Mother, homemaker and hostess, with extraordinary skills as a seamstress and cook. She loved playing bridge and other card games and devoted much time as a very active member of Officers’ Wives Clubs during her husband’s long Air Force career. She freely gave of her time and talents in support of the Parent-Teachers Associations and schools attended by her children. She was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church and was totally devoted to her family, children, and grandchildren.

Preceding Amy Kate in death were seven siblings, Linnie McCawley, Charles Thomas Boyce, Flossie Mae Baldwin, Tillie Boyce, Sue Bowmer, Rachel Fogel, and Emma Deckard; and one grandchild, Amyanne Renfro. Amy Kate is survived by one sister, Polly Baldwin of Houston, and husband Conrad; three children, Rachel Ann Lesley and husband, Dallas; Frances Linda Woods and husband, Terry; and Thomas Boyce Pozniak; four grandchildren, Shirlyn Houston, Shirley Hardin Culligan, Kristofer Worfe and Aleena Worfe; and four great-grandchildren, Emma, Luke and Megan Culligan, and Paige Worfe.

A special thanks is extended to all of those who gave support during her active years and to her caregivers at the Live Oak Medical Center in Blanco, TX and to Virginia Gonzales and Douglas Christensen who did so much for her in her later years. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
