The Blanco Panther Varsity Baseball Team wasted little time in collecting the season’s first win as they scored in every inning to pick up a 15 to 1 victory over the visiting San Antonio Wolverines. Jr. Clint Dreyer would go the distance on the mound picking up his first win of the year as he scattered 5 singles while striking out 5 and walking just 2 batters. Defensively, the Panthers’ infield of Grady Childress, Tyler Tredaway, Brooks Wyatt, John Pepper and Ethan Evans played an outstanding game committing no errors. Offensivley, Blanco had several stars on the night, led by 1st baseman John Pepper who hit two homeruns and drove in 6 runs. Also having strong nights at the plate were: Brooks Wyatt 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI’s, Clint Dreyer 3 for 4, Corey Dowlearn 2 for 2 with 3 runs and 2 stolen bases, and Tyler Tredaway 1 for 3 with 2 runs and 2 stolen bases.
The Panthers’ next game will be this Friday when they host the 5th Annual Blanco Panther Tournament which begins on Thursday.
