Although it’s not a Bible verse, certainly “Good things come to those that wait” is a Biblical principle. “Be not weary in well doing, for in due season you’ll reap a harvest” and “Through faith and patience we inherit the promises” are a couple of examples. We at Abundant Grace are thrilled to see these verses come to pass in our church. After nearly seven years in Blanco, The Lord has abundantly blessed us with our own facility.
Upon graduation of Charis Bible College in May of 2003, My family and I came back to Blanco and planted Abundant Grace. We held service in Jimmy and April Klepac’s home until September of that year, when we began day leasing Gem of the Hills. We were able to grow and save while there, believing God would guide us to the right place at the right time. And now by His mercy and grace He has. Thank you, Heavenly Father!
We have purchased a 5,000 sq. ft. building on five acres at 650 F.M. 165, most recently known as the Longhorn Land Sales office. By the hand and favor of God, we were able to pay for it in full, free and clear! Many times man tries his best to attribute the blessings of God to a person or persons. However, is not every good and perfect gift from God? Then why do we look to give man credit, when only God deserves it and alone is worthy of it? It is not wrong to recognize and appreciate people God has used; but all glory belongs to God!
We will be moving in and remodeling over the course of the next several months. However, we will be having our first service in the building on March 7.
I would like to first express my thankfulness and gratitude to Abundant Grace. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I appreciate those of you who have stuck it out through thick and thin to see this day. Many declare their own goodness, but a faithful man - who can find? (Prov 20:6) Thank you so much for your faithfulness. I cannot tell you how much it means to me. God has great things in store!
Next, I would like to sincerely thank Connie, Liz, and all those at Gem of The Hills for their kindness and favor all these years to our church. We cannot express to you in words how thankful we are to have been able to meet at your beautiful facility. May the Lord bless those at Gem of the Hills abundantly, and may their wonderful plans for the future come to pass quickly!
Finally, I would like to thank Mr. Grammer, Tommy, and Cheryl at Longhorn Land. Thank you so much for your kindness and favor in selling us your building, and all you have done since then. You do not know how much you have blessed us. We as a church speak God’s blessing over Longhorn Land Sales, and pray that it prospers abundantly.
Being a preacher, I can’t close this without preaching just a little! To all of those out there who are in the beginning stages of something: Be faithful! Stick it out! Be committed! Don’t quit! Perhaps you just started a marriage, or a business, or a church. Be in it for the long haul. Make it work. Encourage yourself in The Lord. Sure, you’re going to have discouraging days and some set backs; but don’t quit when you do! Quitters are a dime a dozen. Dare to be different. Dare to believe. Pray and get direction from God when you start something. Don’t curse it with your words - speak blessings over it. Strive to be the best. The best husband or wife. The best father or mother. The best employee or employer. The best pastor or church member. We are all going to be something - why not try to be the best “something”?
If you don’t have a church family, then you need to get one. It may not be here, but we would love to have you visit - or re-visit - to find out if it is. Until next time, rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say, rejoice! (Philp 4:4).
