Any business wishing to advertise in the brochure, that has not been contacted, should contact Claudia Zercher or Bill Stahl on or before Monday, April 24.

Engagement Told

April 19, 1968

Announcement is made by Mr. and Mrs. John Mazurek of the engagement of their daughter, Beverly Ann, to Darryl Evers Burris, son of Mrs. Kenneth W. Burris and the late Mr. Burris.

Miss Mazurek was graduated from Blanco High School and attended Southwest Texas State College. Her fiancé is a graduate of Marshall High School.

A June 15 wedding is being planned for the couple in Jefferson Methodist Church, San Antonio.

Youth Rodeo Sunday, May 1

April 20, 1988

The 1988 Blanco County Open Youth Rodeo will be held on Sunday, May 1, 1988 at the Blanco County Fairgrounds in Johnson City, This will be a fun filled afternoon and evening of rodeoing.

The events begin at 2:00 p.m. with a Pee Wee and Jr. Division of the rodeo.

The Grand Entry for the Senior Division will begin at 5:00 p.m.

One admission fee pays for both rodeos.

The event is sponsored by the Blanco 4-H and FFA Youth Council. The rodeo is produced by Lester Meier Rodeo Company of Fredericksburg.

Entry deadline is April 28, 1988.

Aggie Muster

April 21, 1978

Aggies, don’t forget to Muster on April 21 at the Little Blanco Inn at Twin Sisters.

Muster activities will begin at 7:00 p.m. and is open to all former students and their families parents of students and friends of Texas A&M.

Lite-a-Bike April 23

April 21, 1978

Rebecca Creek VFW Post will conduct a Lite-a-Bike program from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Blanco High School parking lot on Sunday afternoon, April 23, 2978.

Birthday Celebrated

April 19, 1968

Arthur Rose celebrated his 87th birthday at the Blanco Mill Nursing Home on Wednesday, April 17. His son, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Rose brought a birthday cake which all of the residents of the home enjoyed. They sang Happy Birthday to him and wished him many more happy returns.

Mr. Rose recalled that his grandmother told him there was a hard freeze on the day he was born, which killed all of the newly sprouted crops.

Blanco Baptists plan revival

April 21, 1978

A revival meeting will be held at First Baptist Church from Sunday, April 30 through May 3. Evangelist Dr. Donnie Melton and singer Wendell Reaces, who both minister at Lockhart, will lead the services. 9:45 a.m. Bible Study, 11:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. meeting s mark Sunday worship. Meetings on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday include daily noon gatherings, with revival services and luncheon, and 7:30 p.m. night service.

On Tuesday evening at 6:00 p.m., the youth will gather for supper. Joyous revival choir rehearsals will precede the night meetings.

First Baptist Church cordially welcomes the community to attend the revival services.

Lions to Sell Light Bulbs

April 19, 1968

The Blanco Lions Club will conduct a Light Bulb Sale on the next three Saturdays, April 20 and 27 and May 4.

Members of the club will have stands on the square all day where you may purchase the bulbs while you are in town, and also conduct a door-to-door campaign from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The bulbs are in packages of 8: four 100 watt, two 75 watt and two 60 watt. The package will sell for $2.00, which is $0.25 per bulb, the same price you would pay in a regular retail outlet.

Proceeds from the sale will go into the Lions Club Projects Fund.
