The Mission of the Chamber is to serve as an association of businesses and individuals organized to promote, support, and develop the economic health of our members and community through valuable partnership, leadership, and education. To help fulfill this mission statement and to move our Chamber to the next level, the Bulverde /Spring Branch Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce they have hired a full-time Executive Director to further support and maintain the achievement of the objectives approved by the Board of Directors.
Sharon Herbert, born and raised in San Antonio, comes to us with 30+ years of experience in managing title companies, real estate closer, real estate salesperson, marketing director, interior designer, and, most importantly, has worked with chambers in Texas and Colorado serving as President, and has chaired numerous committees.
Sharon and her husband Ron live nearby and enjoy the Hill Country with their horses and dogs. Children and grandchildren enjoy Grandma and Grandpa’s “little” ranch when they can. Sharon and Ron have lived in Colorado, but always seem to find their way back “home” to the Hill Country. Gardening, woodworking, and painting are all hobbies Sharon likes to use in her work. It is always a pleasure to find out what’s new in her office.
The promotion of local business is of utmost importance to Sharon, and she is ready to begin her new position to help business growth in the Bulverde/Spring Branch area. She is proud to say that this past Christmas she did not go out of our area to buy any of her gifts. She has had two Trunk Shows at her office for the local vendors to sell their wares. “Anything that can be done to live and shop in our area will keep our community at home.”
Sharon plans to visit each and every Chamber member in the near future to gather information on membership needs, educate members on how to make the most of their Chamber membership, and to make sure the Chamber is working towards the constructive growth that we all want. It is Sharon’s goal to enhance Chamber membership and continue to create a thriving business atmosphere in our Texas Hill Country area.
One thing for sure, you can expect to see some changes within the Chamber Office. With her interior design background, she plans to bring in some of her personal antique furniture to give our chamber office a much needed facelift. She has plans to create a friendly, comfortable, and inviting gathering place where you can expect to attend Executive Director Coffees, quarterly Trunk Shows, and complimentary learning sessions on how to help your business grow. Speaking of growing, she also has a dream of enhancing the outdoor landscape of the Chamber Office as well. Who knows, we might even have garden parties or Garden Club gatherings to boot.
