Dear Editor,

On March 2, 2010 someone faxed a complaint to UIL regarding three student athletes at Blanco High School. The fax was sent in “anonymously” but basically questioned their playing eligibility due to residency issues as well as personally attacking the credibility of BHS Baseball Coach Bryan Wyatt.

Of course these kids are all residents of Blanco, and it took the UIL Board no time in unanimously voting that way. One DEC member stated ”they have more proof they live here in Blanco than I have that I live in Comfort”.

Is this the way we welcome talented students (both on and off the field)? Shame on you for calling and faxing that malicious complaint. I am absolutely amazed that you chose to go after 3 high school students instead of adults.

These kids, my niece, my nephew and family friend, have been subjected to flattened tires in the high school parking lot, egging and numerous other things since starting school here in August.

Yes, August; not yesterday, last week or even January, but August 2009! I am ashamed that I told them how great Blanco was and how they would love it here. Shame on me for believing that we as a community could welcome new talented athletes to our “tight knit” community.

To you, the parent that sent in the complaint, how dare you accuse three high school students and not sign the fax.

Your need to remain “anonymous” is simply a need to remain a coward, which I suspect you have been your whole life. The truth will come out. I will attend the games as always to support Blanco in all they do because both my sons play for Blanco.

The only difference is I guess we have been here longer. Hang in there Tyler, Tara and Clint. We all know you are great athletes and we know exactly where you live.

Thank you Coach Rogers, Mr. Barton, and Dr. Ford for presenting the truth at the hearing.

Stunned Blanco Parent,

Mary Anne Romero

Dear Editor,

If it is not apparent to everyone who reads this letter, let me say that the travesty in Washington D.C. is nothing less than a bloodless revolution. Our elected Democrat legislators and President are in the process of fulfilling the Russian threat that they would destroy us from within.

The next few days are the climax of a sixty year effort to corrupt our country and bring about this revolution. We are about to lose our precious way of life. Rules, laws, the Constitution mean nothing to these scoundrels who have all sworn to protect and defend the Constitution. Their efforts define treachery. For decades they denied or disguised their intentions; now they are blatantly open.

The amazing element is the speed with which they have moved in one year. They have funded Acorn into eternity and they have hundreds of billions in reserve from unspent “stimulus” funds.

The next few days are crucial to these Democrats. Their dedication to this disastrous revolution may be waning. One more telephone call could change their vote.

For telephone numbers, please go to callcongressnow.com. Do not be frustrated by a busy signal; know that you are a force they feel. If you get through, all you need to say is, “Kill the bill.” They will get the message.
