Panthers Go 1 and 1 Over Spring Break
Wednesday, March 24, 2010 • Posted March 23, 2010

The Panther varsity baseball team picked up their tenth win of the season over spring break, but failed to get number 11 as Blanco heads into district play at 10 and 6 on the year.

On Monday, Blanco hosted the Marion Bulldogs. Blanco scored 11 runs on 7 hits through 4 innings to claim an 11 to 5 win. Ethan Evans looked strong on the mound, as he picked up his first win of the season.

Keaton Dodd and Clint Dreyer held the win in relief, with Dreyer getting credit for the save. Offensively, the Panthers were led by Kaleb Specht who went 2 for 4 at the plate, scoring two runs, to go along with two doubles and an RBI.

Thursday saw the Panthers take on the Pawhuska Huskies from Oklahoma.

Blanco managed to keep the game close until the 7th inning when the Huskies added three runs to hand the Panthers a 6 to 2 loss.

For Blanco, Dreyer suffered the loss on the mound, while providing much of the offensive punch for the Panthers, going 2 for 3 at the plate with an RBI. John Pepper also had a good night offensively with two doubles.

The Panthers will now prepare for the opening of district play with road games this week at Randolph on Tuesday and Comfort on Friday.
