Theodore Nelson Withers

Theodore Nelson Withers, 83, passed away Monday, April 28, 2008 in Fredericksburg, Texas. Nelson was born August 13, 1924, to W. H. and Faye Casparis Withers. He spent his entire life in Johnson City, Texas.

In addition to his parents, Nelson was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Margaret Mearle Lackey, three brothers Clark, Charlie and Harold Withers and sister Della Withers Calloway. He is survived by sons Theodore Nelson (Sonny) Withers, Jr. of Burnet and John Dale Withers of Pflugerville and daughter Pat Dildine and husband Lawrence of Johnson City. He is also survived by grandchildren Keith Dildine and Kelly Dildine of Austin; Kecia Hunt and husband Kevin of San Antonio; and great-grandson Dylan Hunt.

Along with brother W. E. Withers of Houston.

Nelson was a veteran of the Army Air Corp in World War II. He was a life time member, former Commander and officer of the Jung-Young Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #8915. He was a Director of Cattleman’s National Bank for many years. Nelson was a supporter of many local organizations including the Blanco County Youth Stock Show, Blanco County Fair Association and Johnson City Chamber of Commerce.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at Crofts Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Masonic Cemetery, Johnson City. Memorials may be made to North Blanco Emergency Medical Services (NBCEMS), the Johnson City Volunteer Fire Department or the charity of your choice.
