Calling on the Community to Donate Blood This Summer

Every two seconds someone in America needs blood, including patients across south Texas. Blood is especially needed during the summer season because schools are out and families are on vacation, therefore impacting the community blood supply. The hour that it takes to donate is a lifetime for someone in need.

There’s an additional incentive to donate blood. Donate on two occasions between May 1st and September 30th and receive a $25 H-E-B gift card. For complete promotion guidelines, visit www.southtexasblood.org.

Donate blood at this upcoming blood drive in Blanco: Blanco High School, Wednesday, May 7; 8:30 am- 4:00 pm, In front of the school; 1514 4th Street.

All presenting donors will receive a STBTC T-shirt! Donors must show identification, before beginning the donation process.

Anyone 17 years of age or older, who weighs at least 110 pounds, and is in good general health may donate blood.
