Glen R. Barnard

Glen R. Barnard, 91, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 31, 2010. He was born November 12, 1918 in Smithville, MO, son of Landie and Nell Barnard. He is survived by his wife, Ruby, of Blanco, TX, one sister, Doris Sultemeier of Albuquerque, NM, son, Greg Barnard, Florida, son, Mike Barnard of Alvin, TX, stepchildren; Pam Mandel, Guffey, CO, Mike Kitchen, San Antonio, Howard Kitchen, Branson, MO, and Diane Vest, San Antonio, 27 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

He was a member of Blanco United Methodist Church and the Blanco Lions Club. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corp. He worked as an accountant for the civil service for 34 years and later taught at San Antonio College and then sold real estate.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 9 at the First United Methodist Church, Blanco. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to The Blanco United Methodist Church Scholarship Fund.
